OMG, it’s a fancy new page. To make it even OMGier, I’ve led things off with a video. I’m concerned that they could become a regular feature, and you should be too.
Ha, that was kinda fun.
First, a major thanks to Hockey Primetime (www.hockeyprimetime.com) for making the new site possible. Second, nobody wants to hear me rattle off a slew of thank you’s, so I’ll stop. And, I’m thinking if I do end up making more video entries, I’ll do something like Jon Lajoie’s Everyday Normal Guy. If you don’t like bad language, I’d stick to my puppy pics.

I'm a hockey player turned writer. After playing for Alaska Anchorage in the WCHA (NCAA), I carried on with an NHL tryout (New York Islanders in 2007) before spending a couple seasons in the AHL/ECHL (last year was 2008-09). My father, Bob Bourne, won four Stanley Cups with the Islanders in the '80's, as did my fiancee's dad, Clark Gillies. I'm now the web editor for theScore's hockey blog "Backhand Shelf."
lookin forward to seein the upgrades!!
Looking good skinny. I miss your essence. Stop shaving and drink more blasters.

New site looks great too.

love the new digs Justin!
fancy fancy
solid look
Looks fantastic, babe!
Thanks, I’ll take it from people focusing on style and substance (oh, and Bri).
Weeeee! PS, thats a hot pic.
Quite a classy joint ya got here.
My, what a nice young man…even with that soul patch….or shadow, maybe..I can’t tell
The soul patch was one of those things I did when I was young to prove I could grow some form of facial hair, and everyone got so accustomed to it, they think I look weird without it. Just roll with it.
Nice work on the new site. Loved the video, too funny. Lots of potential there, just gotta clean that facial hair up a bit and maybe get a nice black suit with a red tie.
Thanks bro – I’ll be sure to get to a tailor asap. I was just going over some of my old comments/postings etc. in making the site transition, and you were one of like, 30 followers a day in the blogs early stages. Plus, you hold the title MVC (Most Valuable Commentor). Thanks for the help bud!
PS, Hockey Primetime.com plans on having me do a semi-regular radio show starting in the fall, and I’m banking on you being a frequent (if not daily) part of the show.
After that video, I have one question: Can you get your jaw broken again?
Awesome job Justin…Very proud of you but then again always have been.
The transition from playing to writing is doubly hard when you don’t get to punch the people you want to in this profession.
Looks great Justin!
Oh, and congrats again!!
Ahhhh this guy! Radio in the fall eh, that’s awesome, I feel guilty for thinking about hockey on 30 degree days but the break between FA madness and pre-season really isn’t that long. I guess… Let me know when you’re going to work out the advertising stuff, I’d love to buy some space for the summer sports programs! (www.lakeviewheightscommunity.com/freebasketballcamps)
Don’t worry about buying ads for those basketball camps, I’ll be running them again this year. I appreciate your effort, involvment and time though – we’ll be providing this years participants with American bismarks and Gatorades. Hope you have fun again!
Very cool new site. Sweet idea with the intro video. Different. Looking forward to more. Congrats on the radio gig. Will we be able to hear that in the states? on the web or satellite?
Love the new site!! And video is a great idea…but now there’s pressure. Writing and being funny is one thing, but delivering the line? You look like you’re up to it. And I hope I’m not offending Bri, but WTH with the shirt? Doesn’t look like the mental image I had built up. Get something that does you justice
Shiny!
Still browse around the blog and love it with each post more
I’m not sure were there right place to post “what I’d like to see on the blog”-comment is, so I just mention it here:
I’d love to see a map on the right side, where you/we can see were your readers are coming from.. or better two… one world-map and one North-American one… Would that be possible?
Anyway.. great blog, can’t wait to read more from the other side of the glass…
Greetings + have a great day from Germany
Kerstin
I’ll see what I can do – the blog is biggest in weird places – Alaska, New York, Israel, Phoenix, North Dakota… tough to find a common thread between what’s attracting readers!
