In the wake of a long season of writing, I won’t be blogging here until Thursday or Friday, when I want to write about free agency. I’m finalizing my agreement with Easton as well this week, so this summer I should be doing more stuff with them (and trying to hustle free swag to be won as giveaways on this site, woo).
I’ll keep you posted on what the program is going to be, but rest assured I won’t be abandoning the site this summer, I’ll still be writing. Check back at your leisure, and I’ll be back in a couple days!
(Oh, and I still have columns out, so I will post the links)

I'm a hockey player turned writer. After playing for Alaska Anchorage in the WCHA (NCAA), I carried on with an NHL tryout (New York Islanders in 2007) before spending a couple seasons in the AHL/ECHL (last year was 2008-09). My father, Bob Bourne, won four Stanley Cups with the Islanders in the '80's, as did my fiancee's dad, Clark Gillies. I'm now the web editor for theScore's hockey blog "Backhand Shelf."
How about an Easton Synergy ST righty with an Iginla blade? Thanks.
In all seriousness, great work on both of those articles. The draft piece allows you to use your experience to discuss something most of us have no idea about. The HOF article only starts the discussion for me, opening an interesting look at how difficulty hockey is to quantify with statistics. That could probably be a whole book right there though.
Will you be explaining what you are doing for Easton?
Can you put in a word with Easton to revive their goalie pants? Mine are so beat-up they’ve had to be largely re-stitched with skate lace but they’re still the best pant I’ve owned! Cue more Easton-related requests……..
