Snow covered dogs thaw out indoors. Cash is one of THREE Newfs. Love ‘em.

I'm a hockey player turned writer. After playing for Alaska Anchorage in the WCHA (NCAA), I carried on with an NHL tryout (New York Islanders in 2007) before spending a couple seasons in the AHL/ECHL (last year was 2008-09). My father, Bob Bourne, won four Stanley Cups with the Islanders in the '80's, as did my fiancee's dad, Clark Gillies. I'm now the web editor for theScore's hockey blog "Backhand Shelf."

and don’t they smell wonderful when they come in all snowy! My dogs smell like fish. We make em both go in the powder room and melt off on the tile floor. Wish we had some of that snow here in western NY. We can handle it a WHOLE lot better than DC!
Ooh, do they do water rescue competitions? I have a friend who has Newfies and they’re really into that. Great fun!

I guess snow melt is better than doggie drool. In high school a friend had a St Bernard. I remember the panic “Dad’s home! Wipe the drool off the leather couch!!”

Is that water from the snow or is that dog slobber? Either way, I want to sleep with three of those in my bed. In a good way.
I once partied with three Newfies who were really quite similar. OK, they were a little less hairy but after a couple bottles of Screech, they slobbered pretty much the same…
My sis had four of these wonderful pets at one time.
They were great with my at-the-time small kids [5, 3 & 1).
Gentle as lambs.
It’s a lot of work grooming them. Shoulda had you drool towel closer.

He was a huge puppy! Not sure of the right word for him now–but he is cute.

All that is just from melting snow? Gees, since it’s a Newfie I thought you had been slimed!
Oh well, when the weather warms back up you’ll have to have Cash do a water rescue – nothing beats being dragged to shore by one of these wonderful beasts.
